JOB TITLE: AUDITOR TECHNICIAN

Discovery Audit Services, LLC (DAS) is seeking an Auditor Technician to join our team based in Baton Rouge, LA. The position is an entry-level auditor role responsible for providing executive administrative, audit and analytical support to the audit staff. The auditor technician will perform many tasks, including working on special projects and basic audit procedures. The auditor technician will work under the supervision of the audit staff and will be exposed to a broad range of audit and accounting skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

• Assist in examining, sorting and filter accounting records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Audit Standards (GAAS) and company procedures and controls

• Analyze large data sets

• Converting large PDFs to Excel Format

• Assist with basic audit procedures

• Assist the audit staff with special projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook

• Intermediate knowledge of Windows 10 operating system

• Strong computer skills

• Must be a self-starter

• Exceptional organizational and time management skills

• Detail oriented

• Strong data analytics skills

• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
   

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university – OR– currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university with a minimum 2 years completed

• Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher

• Major coursework in accounting or business-related subject matter preferred

• Accounting experience a plus

• Data analytics experience a plus

AUTHORITY / ACCOUNTABILITY: The Auditor Technician will directly report to the audit staff - Auditor, Lead Audit Manager - as assigned. An Auditor Technician is first and foremost accountable for the quality of work he/she performs.  This is directly reflected by how thorough, accurate, and neat the work product is, regardless of the audit outcome.  The Auditor Technician shall maintain strict confidentiality of taxpayer information at all times. The Auditor Technician shall adhere to all company policy and procedure relating to the security of all data and information in the possession of the company. The Auditor Technician is accountable to the Auditor, Lead Auditor, and Audit Manager to perform the assigned work in the most accurate and efficient manner possible.
